'Hamilton involved in new Formula 1 movie starring Brad Pitt'

Back in December, rumors circulated that a new Formula One movie was in the works. Brad Pitt is said to be involved in the project, as is Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton. In what capacity they are involved and who will take on the production was not yet known, but now there seems to be more clarity about that.

Apple is said to have secured exclusive rights to the film, Deadline reports. The lead role is for Brad Pitt, who is also producing the film with his own production company Plan B, in association with Jerry Bruckheimer. Joseph Kosinski, director of Top Gun: Maverick, will direct the film.

Pitt would play the role of a retired driver who returns as a mentor and teammate to a younger driver. It was reported in December that Lewis Hamilton would be involved in the project as a consultant, but his involvement has not yet been confirmed.
