Zandvoort doesn't want to think about a race without an audience

Ross Brawn wants the Formula 1 season to start as soon as possible and has no problem with it if it has to start without fans. How does that work for the organizers? NU.nl asked sporting director Jan Lammers of the Dutch Grand Prix.

''We're not going to think about that until the FIA really comes to us with such a request, but we haven't had it yet. We have to be creative now to get the season started again and there are a lot of hypothetical solutions. However, for Zandvoort, there is no point in reacting to that now'', Lammers reports to NU.nl.

However, Brawn is aiming for eighteen to nineteen races in 2020. It all depends on when we can start again, but the sporting director of Formula 1 said the 'Triple Headers' can be used a lot and that weekends can be shortened. This makes it logistically easier for the teams.

Lammers also came up with the idea of racing on Wednesday night. That way you get the same idea as in soccer. There you usually have the league games in the weekend and during the week the Champions League, Europa League or cup game.

''That was a personal thought that I didn't discuss with the FIA. However, F1 can look at other options in this period and racing on Wednesday evening can be an example of that'', he concludes.
