Toto Wolff thinks that the team's lack of engine upgrade is the main reason what cost them pole position in Canada, as the Silver Arrows will look to somewhat replicate last year's one-two finish.
That'll be tough though, seeing that they're starting from P2 and P4. The fact that that is not P1 and P2 is because the Formula One is all about getting the details right.
"The fact is this is a championship that is going to be won and lost with the tiniest of margins," Wolff told Sky Sports F1.
"Certainly not having given the drivers enough track time on the hyper, if we could have changed it now on the weekend we would have changed it.
"We started to drive on the hyper today but was that the decisive factor? Probably not.
What was the decisive factor was the engine, the Austrian argues, as Bottas was just 0.093s off pole.
"If we had brought the engine upgrade it would have been an advantage.
"If you miss out on the tiniest of upgrades, the smallest of mistakes will be penalised.
"The same applies for our competitors - this is going to make the difference in winning or losing the weekend."
