Toto Wolff regrets not being able to compete for the world title with Mercedes last season, but also sees the positive aspects of it. Indeed, the Austrian team boss is sure the team will come back stronger next year.
Since 2014, Mercedes had been unbeatable. Only seven years later, Max Verstappen managed to battle Lewis Hamilton and emerge victorious.

Wolff had instructive year with Mercedes

With the new regulations not helping the Germans either, it had a tough season in 2022. It eventually finished behind Red Bull Racing and Ferrari in third place in the constructors' championship. For Wolff, however, it is clear that Mercedes will continue to grow in the coming years and can use last season as a basis for that.
"You learn the most in the most difficult conditions anyway," he analysed in conversation with Motorsport.com. "It would have been different if we had continued winning. From a personal point of view, as a team boss, this development is incredibly important. No matter how difficult it was at times."
