Wolff happy with Hamilton, but: 'One point from Verstappen is annoying'

Toto Wolff is satisfied with the final stage of the season. Lewis Hamilton won the Qatar Grand Prix in dominant fashion, but Max Verstappen does pick up an extra point. The Mercedes team boss finds it annoying.

"If you would have told us it's gonna go to Saudi Arabia or to the end of the season, we would have taken that," Wolff told Sky Sports in an interview.

"I think we started on the back foot, we just weren't good enough. Regulations didn't go our way and you have to take it on the chin. Therefore, whoever wins the championship merits winning the championship, and it's [losing] gonna cost me maybe a sleepless night, maybe two," the team boss continued.

Hamilton walked away with the victory, but Verstappen managed to set the fastest lap of the race. This earns him an extra point, which can make a big difference in this championship.

"Lewis was great, the one point is a bit annoying. It would be annoying if we lose, but we can take it, it's not the end of the world. We will come back, we would come back strong. We would come back strong next season and the seasons to come."We've got to push, maximum attack. We've got to catch up, make some points up. And this is just what we're going to do," Wolff said.
