It seems that the FIA will introduce additional rule changes next season to remove porpoising from Formula 1. While Mercedes is happy with the intended steps, other teams are against the current policy. Toto Wolff is of the opinion that the FIA should have decided sooner, he told Sky Sports.
Almost all the teams managed to find a solution to the bouncing during the season, but Mercedes' problems persisted. The FIA came to the rescue, however, believing that porpoising was causing an unsafe situation and that there was therefore nothing they could do but change the rules.

Wolff is in favour of rule change

The Mercedes team boss understands why the FIA came to this decision and hopes that the problem will soon be eradicated from the motorsport class. As far as he is concerned, the rule changes will even be brought forward, he revealed in conversation with the English medium.
"They are probably going to have to run the car from the front a bit higher than they use to be. I think this TD should have ben brought into place immediately and not with 3 races to go. Then this thing of is it fear to bring it half way into the season is the wrong one. It should have ben brought it when it was discovered." Wolff said.
