Williams denies that Porsche will take over the Formula One team. The German carmaker created rumours on Monday morning by talking about an announcement, but according to the British, it has nothing to do with its own team.
After Audi announced earlier that it will partner with Sauber, it is waiting for Porsche's announcement. The brand also wants to be in Formula from 2026 and has spoken to Red Bull Racing in the past, but the talks came to nothing.

Porsche will not take over Williams

With Williams being the only team not to have a strong tie-up with another team, it seemed that Porsche's message was hitting Williams. However, the British racing stable states that it is happy with its partnership with Mercedes and so there is no question of a takeover.
"The rumours that Williams Racing is up for sale are inaccurate," Williams' press office assures GPblog. "We are open to any discussions regarding the supply of engines with manufacturers from 2026 when the new engine regulations come in. We are happy with our relationship with Mercedes and appreciate all their efforts." With that, a possible partnership or sponsorship deal is still among the options.
