Claire Williams is confident her team will be able to get their new 2020 F1 challenger on track ready for the green light on the first day of winter testing. She insists Williams have "contingency time" in place should they pick up any delays.

Tough Targets

Before a wheel was even turned, Williams were put on the back-foot ahead of the 2019 F1 season which saw George Russell and Robert Kubica parked at the back of the grid for the duration. The British-based team are desperate to turn things around hence why their boss has set some "tough targets" which she believes "have been going well".
"We set ourselves some really tough targets over the winter, around aero in particular, about finding performance, and then on some mechanical issues as well. And these have been going well. Obviously, the key target now is getting the car to that test on time - and at the lights when they go green, if not before. And I have absolute confidence that that will happen," she reported in Tel Aviv when they announced test driver Roy Nissany.
"We've built ourselves a huge amount of contingency time to ensure that if something does go wrong, we're okay and we've got some cover there."
