Max Verstappen is only 25 years old, but the Dutchman already has two world titles to his name. Expectations are therefore high, with the possibility of him achieving multiple records. However, according to
Jos Verstappen, his son is not thinking about that, he told
Formule1.nl.
Verstappen was victorious in this year's world championship by taking the world title at the
Japanese Grand Prix. If the driver can keep this up, his rivals seem to have their hands full in the coming years.
With
Michael Schumacher and
Lewis Hamilton holding the record with seven world titles, Verstappen still has some way to go. However, the former Formula One driver notices that his son is not concerned with that.
"It's not like he's chasing records. He really doesn't care about that," he stressed.
Verstappen does not rule out F1 departure in 2028
This year, Verstappen extended his commitment with Red Bull until 2028. Although the driver of the Austrian formation is still enjoying himself in
Formula 1,
Jos Verstappen does not rule out his son quitting by then.
"We will take stock again in 2028," he said.
