The Formula 1 documentary series: Drive to Survive serves as a warm-up every year for the new Formula 1 season. In 2024 it is already time for season six of the popular series. Read here when the sixth season will be shown on Netflix.

Date | When will F1 Drive to Survive season six come to Netflix?

The release date for season six of Drive to Survive has been confirmed as Friday, 23 February 2024 - the last day of the winter test ahead of the new F1 season and a week before the opening race, the Bahrain Grand Prix. So fans of the sport have plenty of fun in the run-up to the first GP of the year.
The 2023 season itself mainly produced a barrage of repetitive results due to the overwhelming dominance of Max Verstappen and Red Bull Racing's RB19. But if the previous seasons are an indication, Netflix will find a way to create exciting storylines. In addition, there was more than enough tension behind Verstappen, especially in the battle between Mercedes, McLaren and Ferrari.

Verstappen to be seen again in Drive to Survive after criticism

In addition to praise, there is also a lot of criticism of the Netflix series. For example, Max Verstappen has repeatedly expressed criticism in the past about the way in which the producers intensify certain moments, putting some drivers in a negative light and creating rivalries that do not actually exist.
After a conversation with F1 boss Stefano Domenicali and the producers of the show, Verstappen took a milder stance and agreed to participate in the recording again. The Red Bull Racing driver can be viewed in the episodes of Drive to Survive, just like in the fifth season.

How is Drive to Survive made?

The Netflix camera team is a guest with the teams at race weekends and are often able to get closer to the action than anyone else, giving viewers a compelling feeling of what it's like to be at the top of motorsport. Not only are the F1 teams filming behind the scenes, the creators may also be present at some meetings that take place behind closed doors. That has already resulted in a number of unique moments, including a tough confrontation between Toto Wolff and Christian Horner during a briefing for the team bosses.
