What has made Hamilton so incredibly good in recent years? 'Doubt he's any faster'

Lewis Hamilton became the most successful Formula 1 driver of all time since last season. Although in recent years it was almost a matter of time that Hamilton slowly started to take these records, this has certainly not always been the case. So what is he now doing differently?
After his incredible debut in 2007 and his first world title in 2008, Hamilton had a few frustrating years. At least on the basis of the statistics. He won races, but was not clearly better than teammate Jenson Button and usually had to acknowledge his superior in Sebastian Vettel and Fernando Alonso, who were more successful in that period.
Martin Brundle thinks that Hamilton's recent success is not because the Briton has become faster. "Is he faster now? I doubt it," says the Sky Sports analyst. "When I look back to those early years and look at Lewis now, I think he's a more complete driver. It is just amazing how few mistakes he makes now."
