Pascal Wehrlein says that he is tempted by an F1 return but says he would not come back to race at the wrong end of the grid. Wehrlein spent two seasons in F1, with backmarkers Manor and Sauber, impressing when he could in his uncompetitive machinery.
Despite the good performances, the German was dropped in favour of Charles Leclerc for 2018 and hasn't returned to F1, instead racing in Formula E, where he finished 12th last season in an up and down year.
Recently he has been linked with a move back to F1 with an Adrian Campos backed potential new team for 2021, although nothing is confirmed yet.
Wehrlein told t-online.de that he would consider coming back but does not want to race at the back of the field.
He said: “Formula 1 is always tempting. But it has to be the right opportunity. I would not want to race right at the back just to get back into F1.

“There is still plenty of time before then, so I can still look, listen and think about everything."
