There wasn't enough speed in his RB21 to defeat the McLarens, notes Max Verstappen. However, a win is not out of the question, and the Dutchman sees that it's his 'time to shine' If anything Verstappen's starts have been of the best he's had so far this season. And if he is to take the lead from the McLarens tomorrow in the
Spanish Grand Prix, then the natural opportunity is at Turn 1.
'A la Imola' for Verstappen at the start tomorrow?
At the start of the Imola Grand Prix Verstappen completed a bold overtake around the outside of a defenseless Oscar Piastri. Is the plan to repeat the feat?
"I think it's time to shine in Turn 1, yeah," said Verstappen to media including GPblog. "Make it three wide for the pictures, why not?"
Speaking more candidly, the Dutchman said: "I don't know, honestly, I think looking at [the] pace, it will be tough. Like I think Oscar said, it's not all about the start in Turn one."
"You need to be good on tyres. It's a long race. A lot can happen. So I'll just try to maximise what I got."
