Verstappen satisfied with Red Bull's sim driver: 'That's why he's there'

Max Verstappen is very happy with the work of simulator driver Rudy van Buren. Van Buren is a driver on the sim at Red Bull Racing, helping the team collect data, among other things. The Formula 1 driver enjoys being able to communicate with Van Buren about the RB20, which Verstappen is driving.

Verstappen explains what is so nice about working with Van Buren. "It's nice of course that you can communicate with Rudy so much, and that you pass on your feeling of the real car to him then. Rudy can do that very well, he can adapt very well to what the real car does, and of course mimic that on the sim," the defending world champion told Viaplay.

Asked if Van Buren does his job a bit well, Verstappen answered, "So far yes, but that's why he's there of course," the Red Bull driver said, laughing. "No, he is doing a very good job," the Dutchman added quickly. Verstappen also said recently that when he has to test in the sim, everything is set up correctly.
