Verstappen impresses next teammate with "starving for success" mindset

Isack Hadjar highlighted Max Verstappen's special quality as the Frenchman is excited to work with the four-time world champion next season.

After spending an impressive rookie season with Racing Bulls and securing his first podium at the Dutch Grand Prix, Hadjar was promoted to Red Bull Racing.

The Frenchman will replace Yuki Tsunoda, while Liam Lawson and Arvid Lindblad complete the line-up of the Faenza-based team in 2026.

According to Hadjar, his mindset is similar to Verstappen’s. He explained: "What I find very impressive with Max is that after four world championships, he's still very, very hungry and very mad when it doesn't go his way, because he always wants to win.

"And, you know, I don't think every champion can do that. Once you pass a certain level, you can maybe slow down a bit in your approach, but he seems to be starving, just like I am. So, it's very impressive."

The youngster is excited to become Verstappen's teammate next season. He added: "Honestly, there's two things [excite me] – being in a world champion team. When I grew up watching Formula 1, I saw Vettel winning all these races, as a kid, with Red Bull.

"And being teammates with Max, to see what it's like – what facing the best level in the world feels like. You know, it's definitely super-exciting."

Red Bull leads the way in terms of car launch events in the 2026 season. The Milton Keynes-based team's event is set to take place in Detroit on January 15.
