Ferrari team principal Frederic Vasseur was asked whether Riccardo Adami will still be Lewis Hamilton’s race engineer in 2026.
“We are evaluating all options”

Ferrari hosted its traditional end-of-year lunch for journalists, where questions were inevitably raised about the seven-time world champion following the worst season of his career, while there was also broader discussion about Ferrari’s own campaign — one that ended with a fourth-place finish in the Constructors’ and fell well short of the expectations heading into the season.
Beyond his underwhelming results on track, Hamilton also became a talking point on social media due to several verbal exchanges with his race engineer, with a number of team radio messages sparking widespread discussion — highlighting a spark that has yet to fully ignite in terms of their communication and mutual understanding.
Asked whether Adami will therefore remain his race engineer next year despite the many misunderstandings over the course of the season just gone, the Frenchman replied with a brief: “We are evaluating all options.”

The Frenchman also focused at length, during the same closed-door media session, on the season endured by the seven-time world champion, who for the first time in his career finished a Formula 1 campaign without a single podium to his name.
Vasseur underlined how the transition from Mercedes to Ferrari took longer than expected, explaining that “it’s not just about the food or the weather; every single software is different, every single component is different, and the people around him were different.”
