Max Verstappen has been awarded the winner of the F1 Action of the Year at the 2025 FIA Awards in Uzbekistan. The
Red Bull Racing driver beat
Lando Norris and
Oliver Bearman to claim the unique accolade.
Verstappen, who was previously confirmed
not be present at the gala due to illness, was nominated in the category for his action at the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix.
The four-time world champion’s overtake on
McLaren’s
Oscar Piastri in the opening lap of the Imola race secured him the prize.

Norris, who was also nominated alongside Bearman, saw his defensive move on Piastri in Austria also make the cut. Haas F1 rookie Bearman was nominated for his move on Verstappen at the Mexico City Grand Prix.
Verstappen sends message to Norris and McLaren
Earlier,
Verstappen sent a message to Norris and the McLaren team following their respective title successes. The 28-year-old also congratulated FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem on his re-election in Tashkent.
Verstappen expressed his satisfaction at pushing Norris all the way to the final race of the championship battle and shared his excitement ahead of the 2026 season.
