For Max Verstappen, the Italian Grand Prix has been extremely disappointing. The Dutchman managed to keep himself out of trouble but eventually had to park his car in the garage after his team retired the car. The driver from Red Bull Racing wasn't having a great race anyway with him fighting in the midfield.
"Ridiculous, a mockery. So, now I've said the words you couldn't say. The start was just sh*t, I immediately had wheel spin. Then I had to get off the gas because I was in the middle. I saw them coming, so I thought I'd brake before all three of us got hurt. After that, I was in a DRS train, so you don't get past that. So there wasn't much I could do about it," said Verstappen to Ziggo Sport.

Problems after restart

"Right from the restart, I had problems with the engine. And that's why I dropped out. I don't know exactly what it is yet, but at least it's the engine. That doesn't matter for next week. It's a very different circuit, of course. I'm glad this race is over because the whole weekend just went well. On the other hand, I'm very happy for AlphaTauri to win here. That 2019 Red Bull is not so bad," the Dutchman jokingly concluded.
