Stoffel Vandoorne has been lapping up the praises following his tremendous drive yesterday in Mexico. The McLaren driver drove for a solid 57 laps on one set of supersofts without making a mistake. He claims he's had really good performances elsewhere this season which have gone unnoticed.
The Belgian was forced into a move to Formula E ahead of next season. He failed to resign at McLaren as they bring in Carlos Sainz and Lando Norris.
For his efforts in Mexico, Vandoorne picked up four points. A result which was his first points score since Baku!
"I think there have been some really good races a couple of races ago as well, but everybody notices because we are rewarded with points," he told Autosport.
"I am very happy with the performance after lap one. We were last and we had to make a great recovery. [I'm] super happy with how everything went. We had some good overtakes on track, we made the tyres last in the crucial moments, we attacked when we had to attack."

His race engineer Tom Stallard posted on Twitter some praise aimed directly at Vandoorne. Maybe too little too late for Vandoorne.
