Uncertainty for Vettel: strategist leaves Aston Martin

Sebastian Vettel will have to do without Bernadette Collins next season. The Aston Martin strategist was still an important pivot in the German's successes last race year, but according to Bild we will not see her again in 2022.

Collins was part of Aston Martin since 2015 and was very successful within the team. From her early years, she was known as a great talent and she showed that once again in partnership with Vettel. Twice Vettel managed to secure a podium finish in 2021, although he was only allowed to keep one.

Despite the successful partnership, Collins chose to leave, leaving Vettel in limbo just before the new season. Aston Martin, meanwhile, has a vacancy out looking for a replacement which it hopes to present soon. However, the team has no guarantee of that at all.

With Vettel and Lance Stroll in its ranks, Aston Martin managed to collect 77 points last season and end up in seventh place in the Constructors' Championship. Vettel was responsible for 43 points, while Stroll was slightly less successful with 34 points.
