Red Bull mega talent Daniel Ticktum will make his debut in Formula 2 this weekend, as the runner-up in the Formula 3 championship will line up for Arden in Abu Dhabi for the final race of the season.
Ticktum is the pearl of the Red Bull Academy, with the 19-year-old Brit finishing runner-up in F3 behind Mick Schumacher. Schumacher had an incredible final of the season, winning nearly every race to overtake Ticktum in the standings.
The Brit will be driving for Arden, a team owned by Red Bull team principal Christian Horner, replacing Max Gunther.
Ticktum managed to win the Macau Grand Prix last weekend in F3, adding to the points on his racing licence. He's still five points short of a super licence, the licence you need to compete in Formula 1, which is why he'll likely be competing in Super Formula next season. That racing class has produced drivers like Pierre Gasly and Stoffel Vandoorne in recent years.
