Steiner warns of danger: 'This is enough in my opinion at the moment'

Guenther Steiner hopes Formula 1 will keep the number of race weekends the same in the coming years. A record number of 24 Grands Prix are scheduled in 2023 and, according to the Haas F1 team boss, that is the maximum that teams can handle.

Speaking to De Telegraaf, the Italian warned that otherwise things could go completely wrong for the motorsport class. "We need stabilisation, otherwise there is a danger of hitting a cliff and falling into an abyss. 24 races is enough in my opinion at the moment," he explained.

Steiner is not at all surprised that Formula 1 is expanding the number of races. Indeed, in recent years, the sport managed to increase its popularity around the world, ensuring that more circuits are interested in joining Formula 1.

Formula 1 boss Stefano Domenicali revealed only last month that he will reduce the number of GPs as soon as he notices that this will cause problems for the teams. For now, however, he expects the change to be mostly positive.
