How did your favourite driver rate after the Spanish Grand Prix?

Lewis Hamilton – 8

Good start from Hamilton to get ahead of Bottas and he stayed there all race. Good safety car restart and puts himself back in pole position for the title.

Valtteri Bottas – 6

Poor start cost him the race, trundled along in second for the entire Grand Prix. Will need to do better for the rest of the season if he wants that title.

Max Verstappen – 8

A very mature drive from the Dutchman, took advantage of Vettel’s troubles in the first few corners to get himself onto the podium.

Sebastian Vettel – 5

Had a lightning start but made the wrong move to Bottas’ outside. Not been a good season for Vettel and belief in him in slipping away.

Charles Leclerc – 5

A tough race for him with a puzzling decision to put him on hard tyres. Yet to show his full potential you would feel.

Pierre Gasly – 5

More like what we expect from him but he still needs to do more to earn a second season with Red Bull.

Kevin Magnussen – 7

First points since Australia. Aggressive in his fight with teammate Grosjean and scored solid points for Haas.

Carlos Sainz – 7

Looked nowhere at the start of the race before pitting under the safety car and making his way up to P8. Good showing in front of his home crowd.

Daniil Kvyat – 8

That overtake! Brilliant move around the outside and drove a solid race after that. Deserved his ninth place finish.

Romain Grosjean – 6

Contact with Magnussen and running wide spoiled his chance of more points but still picks up his first of the season.

Alex Albon – 6

Fairly uneventful race for Albon, who gained one place to finish 11th.

Daniel Ricciardo – 5

Renault’s problems are obviously not his fault but this was not what he would’ve wanted before the race. Silly decision to put on the wrong tyres at pit stop.

Nico Hulkenberg – 5

Similarly to Ricciardo, his car just isn’t competitive enough. Early qualifying exit hampered his chances in the race.

Kimi Raikkonen – 5

Ran wide on the opening lap and didn’t recover. Safe to say this track didn’t suit the Alfa Romeo and Raikkonen will likely be back in the points sooner rather than later.

Sergio Perez – 4

Can’t remember seeing him once in the race and came home a disappointing 15th after a positive race in Baku.

Antonio Giovinazzi – 3

Didn’t really see Giovinazzi after his early pit stop and he’ll be understandably itching for a good result next time out.

George Russell – 6

What else can you expect from Russell in the Williams? Kept it on the road and beat Kubica, again.

Robert Kubica – 4

Doesn’t seem to be able to challenge Russell, but he kept it clean for P18.

Lando Norris – 3

Went backwards at the start and the collision with Stroll ended a difficult day.

Lance Stroll – 2

Should’ve given Norris more space at turn one. Disappointing way to end a tough weekend for the Canadian.
