Kevin Magnussen topped the morning session of the post-Spanish Grand Prix test for Haas, his 1:18.101s set on the C3 tyre compound was 0.081s faster than Antonio Fuoco's efforts in the Ferrari.
There were three red flag periods during the morning session, each one caused by a different team suffering an issue of some kind.
Red Bull's Dan Ticktum was the first to come to a halt, the Briton stopping out on track at turn 10 before it was the turn of Nicholas Latifi in the Williams to stop, this time on the exit of pit lane.
Mercedes might have enjoyed a smooth-sailing Spanish Grand Prix weekend but Nikita Mazepin pitched the W10 into a spin at turn 12, bringing out the red flags once more just before the lunch break. The Russian ended his morning in seventh.
Charles Leclerc and Lance Stroll were the two testing for Pirelli on the second day of testing, ending the morning in fifth and 11th places respectively.
