A video of Max Verstappen has gone viral after the Dutchman was spotted driving a particularly unique car. Four-time
Formula 1 world champion Max Verstappen is known not only for his passion for Formula 1. The Dutchman regularly tests GT3 machinery, most recently testing an Aston Martin at Spa. However, a video from the
Piston Brothers reveals that the
Red Bull Racing driver has other interests in some particularly quirky vehicles.
Verstappen goes viral in tiny Fiat
Last Monday, the four-time Formula 1 world champion was once again seen aboard his superyacht. After returning to shore, he drew attention by driving off in a rather unexpected car - a Fiat Topolino.
It’s a very different kind of car from what Verstappen is usually seen driving. The Dutchman owns several high-performance vehicles, including the Aston Martin Valkyrie, a hypercar developed with input from Adrian Newey. On race weekends, of course, he’s behind the wheel of the Red Bull RB21.
Images of Verstappen driving the Fiat Topolino quickly went viral on social media. The compact model stands out not only for its small size but also for its unusual design — it has no doors and is instead secured with simple ropes. It's heavily based on the popular city car, the Citroen Ami.
Verstappen hopes for Red Bull Ring success in Austria
For now, Verstappen’s focus returns to Formula 1. Currently third in the world championship, the Dutchman closed the gap slightly to McLaren drivers Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris in Canada, though he still trails the Australian by 43 points. Helmut Marko has confirmed that Red Bull will introduce an update for the Austrian Grand Prix, with further refinements planned for the British Grand Prix at Silverstone.
According to the Austrian, if the upgrades don’t deliver, the championship fight will become very difficult.
