There has been much talk about tickets for the Formula One weekend at Silverstone in England. For instance, many people considered tickets for the British Grand Prix too expensive, and fewer people were expected to attend than in previous years. However, ticket sales have soared since the Austrian GP.

State of play regarding tickets at Silverstone

GPblog asked the organisers about the status of tickets for the weekend at Silverstone. The weekend tickets (passe partouts for the whole weekend at Silverstone) are completely sold out, and there are only single tickets left for the individual days. Organisers expect the last tickets to be sold on Friday for Sunday. This would virtually sell out the whole weekend in England.

British interest after Russell win and battles Norris and Verstappen

"Ticket sales have been incredibly strong since George Russell won at the weekend in Austria [and] the tussle between Lando Norris and Max Verstappen. It's really captured the British interest," track director Stuart Pringle told the BBC a few days ago. Last year, 480,000 people came to Silverstone. "We are absolutely on target to at least match that, and possibly beat it," Pringle added.
