Sergio Perez hopes that he can commit his future to SportPesa Racing Point and help the team achieve their long term goals and ambitions. The Mexican driver played a vital role in the team's buyout of Force India and is still one of the top drivers on the grid and a contract extension would seemingly be beneficial for both parties.
"The prospect and the ambitions of the team are very big," said Sergio Perez to RaceFans. "It would be nice to have a long-term deal with them because I see the team moving forward. I think it also works both ways and we would ideally like to commit to a long-term agreement.
"So I hope we can agree on the different points. When you look around, it's really a good place to be.
"I have been with this team for a long time. I still remember having arrived at the Hungaroring [Hungarian GP] last year in the midst of the administrative process [when putting in Force India]. And coming back here a year later and seeing where the team is, I'm very proud of that."
Perez will hope that Racing Point agrees with him and that they can come up with a good deal for both of them.
