Today 30 years ago. One of the most legendary rounds ever in Formula 1. Driven by Ayrton Senna. A lap that would later go down in the books as 'Lap of the Gods'. Senna jumped from fifth on the grid to first place, where he dominated for the rest of the race.
The 1993 European Grand Prix was the scene of a slippery race where only 11 drivers crossed the finish line.
Senna had just stunned the drenched crowd on a soaking wet circuit with a spectacular overtaking lap. The Brazilian was already known for keeping his car ironclad under control in the rain, and proved it again here. Sad to remember that the three-time champion died a year after this legendary victory.
Watch and enjoy Ayrton Senna's 'Lap of the Gods' here.
