Former Ferrari technical director Ross Brawn says that Sebastian Vettel taking the victory in Singapore is a massive "morale boost" for the entire team, as they were victorious for the third consecutive race for the first time in over a decade.
Vettel led Charles Leclerc home in a Ferrari 1-2, their first for three years, after undercutting his teammate on fresh tyres to take the lead during the pit-stop phase.
Since the summer break, F1 has been dominated by Ferrari, with Leclerc taking the previous two wins along with all three pole positions.
Brawn said in his column on formula1.com: "It was also a morale booster for the entire team, starting with Mattia Binotto. Ferrari has clearly made progress with its car and the updates brought to Singapore had a marked effect on a circuit where downforce is key. The success of those updates bodes well for the team’s 2020 campaign as well.
"On top of that, the win was inevitably a weight off Vettel’s back. It will restore confidence and also relieve some of the pressure resulting from Leclerc’s phenomenal progress and any affect that has had on dynamics within the team."
