Charles Leclerc won his first Formula 1 race and Ferrari's first of the season last time out at the Belgian Grand Prix. Sebastian Vettel is yet to win a race but sees positive in the success of Leclerc.
Following Leclerc's victory, Sebastian Vettel was asked whether he is impressed or surprised by the good performance of his teammate.
“I think it is good that he surprises many people from the outside world, but he has been part of the Ferrari Academy for a while and it was clear that he has a lot of potentials. It is good to see that he immediately has the speed," Vettel said.
“From the point of view of the team, the most important thing is that we work together and not oppose each other. That now seems to work, that's the most important thing. It was also a difficult weekend for him due to the circumstances. That has somewhat overshadowed that victory, but I am sure that more wins are coming."
Vettel will hope that it is his turn to stand on the top step this weekend at the Italian Grand Prix.
