Mick Schumacher visited the Mercedes factory on Tuesday to fit his seat. While he does not have a permanent Formula 1 seat at the German racing stable, he will be used as a test driver in 2023.

Schumacher fits seat at Mercedes

Schumacher will not be in action during races in the 2023 F1 season unless he has to fill in for Lewis Hamilton and George Russell. Nevertheless, it is vital that he is fully prepared to step into the W14, as the 23-year-old German will put in the necessary mileage on behalf of his new employer.
Schumacher drove for the past two years at Haas, but was sidelined there at the end of 2022 due to disappointing performance. In 2023, he will be replaced by Nico Hulkenberg, who makes his return to the F1 grid after a three-year absence. He did appear several times as a reserve driver in recent years after a number of drivers were affected by coronavirus.
