Like Charles Leclerc, teammate Carlos Sainz does not want to comment on the situation surrounding Mattia Binotto. Ahead of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix weekend, rumours surfaced that the Ferrari team boss will be replaced by Fred Vasseur from January.
It has long been clear that things need to change within Ferrari's team. The Italians themselves threw away the title this season through several strategic errors, poor car reliability and mistakes by the drivers themselves. In the end, Max Verstappen and Red Bull Racing ran away with both world titles in dominant fashion.
Italian media reported on Tuesday that Binotto will no longer be Ferrari's team boss from January. The Italian would be replaced by Alfa Romeo team boss Vasseur. Ferrari itself revealed in a statement that nothing was true about the rumours.

Sainz and Leclerc say nothing about Binotto rumours

In Abu Dhabi, Leclerc would not release anything about Binotto's position. According to the Monegasque, there are "always rumours in Formula 1 and at Ferrari". Sainz also does not want to talk about the rumours about his team boss. "I don't want to talk about these rumours. I don't think it's necessary. I am just calm. I see that the team is calm and composed. I see a lot of unity despite it being a long season. This shows that we are a strong team", the Spaniard responds in conversation with Sky Italy. According to the latest reports, relations between Binotto and Leclerc have not been good for months.
