Carlos Sainz is having a challenging season with Ferrari. While the Italian team seemed to have everything they needed to fight for the world title, things went wrong in several other ways. Sainz understands that there is still room for improvement, he told the press, including GPblog.
At the start of the season Sainz was clearly behind Charles Leclerc, but he is now close to his teammate. It increases his confidence heading into next season, when he hopes Ferrari will be able to keep up the competition until the end of the season.
"We’re learning a lot, team produced a very strong car," the Spaniard said. "The way we raced in front, that can still improve. I do see a solid team, solid atmosphere to keep on developing for next year."

Sainz focuses on new season

For this season, Sainz seems to be giving up the fight. The difference in the world championship between Sainz and Verstappen has already increased to 113 points. "To make sure we can next year not only fight for wins, but also the championship," he said.
