After qualifying in seventh for McLaren, Carlos Sainz Jr. praised his team for bouncing back after a frustrating day on Friday, in which both him and teammate Lando Norris were at the tail-end of the midfield cars.
Norris couldn't string together a good lap during Q1 and got knocked out in P16, but Sainz made it all the way to Q3, starting on the fourth row on the grid on Sunday.
"A very good feeling," Sainz told El Mundo Deportivo after qualifying.
"Especially after yesterday, where we suffered as a team with all the progress our opponents had made. Today, we reacted, we put a car on the track that was that bit better."
Coming off the back of Silverstone last time out, Sainz is confident his team is continuing to make strides forward.

"We've learned from last weekend, we've learned from the mistakes we made and today we did a 'qualy' that surpassed our own expectations. I'm very happy."
