The artificial track limits are causing discussion again at the start of this season. Lewis Hamilton crossed the line for laps in Bahrain but many drivers did the same in Italy. Carlos Sainz says he knows an excellent solution to the problem.
The Spaniard believes Formula 1 should have the same rules for every driver and therefore get rid of artificial limits. "I have already given my opinion to the FIA ", he stated in conversation with Caranddriver.com. "We must use uniformity, the same rules must apply in all corners. It doesn't matter if we use the white line or whatever, but there must be a concrete limit. I think all drivers share this opinion."
Sainz says he has always been a clear enemy of the current artificial limits on circuits. "We need natural limits. Grass or gravel works much better," said Sainz, who argues that the problem is then quickly eliminated. "If all the drivers deliberately go too far, these limits invalidate the times immediately."

Seat of Vettel

The Madrid-born driver took over Sebastian Vettel's seat at Ferrari this season. Sainz has twice finished behind his teammate but has made clear steps forward. Last race he finished fifth, while Charles Leclerc was just ahead of him.
