Russell shared striking photo day before Hamilton news: coincidence or hint?

Just hours after persistent rumours surfaced about a shocking move by Lewis Hamilton to Ferrari, it was confirmed: the seven-time world champion is leaving Mercedes in exchange for the Italian Scuderia. Looking at George Russell's social media channels, it could just be that he hinted about his future teammate a day earlier.

The first reports came out on Thursday morning and later in the day it was a certainty: Hamilton will leave for Ferrari after the 2024 Formula 1 season. There, Carlos Sainz will have to leave as a multi-year contract extension for Charles Leclerc was recently announced.

Now it turns out that a day before the news, Russell shared a rather striking photo via the Instagram page of his merchandise line, GT63. The picture shows none other than Sainz and Russell, with the latter placing his hand on the Spaniard's shoulder. The timing of this picture is remarkable, to say the least
