Daniel Ricciardo is aware his Renault team next season are still unlikely to be winning races. The Australian will leave Red Bull after the 2018 season.
Speaking to Sky Sports F1, Ricciardo was speaking tentatively. The Belgian Grand Prix this weekend marks the first race since the announcement was made. He talks about how he came to a decision.
"There's a lot of things I had to digest and look over. Deep down, I do believe. I feel The trajectory they've been on has been strong. Winning next year is still unlikely but I think the process over the course of the next 12-18 months will be good and encouraging," Ricciardo said.
"I feel it was time to make a change for myself, and move on. We'll see how it goes. I feel comfortable within myself."
Ricciardo was reminded at home much slower the Renault was than his current Red Bull car. The gap is around 0.5 seconds. He took this on board.

"Yeah, that is true. There's still a lot of questions to be answered. People will say 'you said you want to win straight away' but I'm going to go to a solid car," he added.
His current team-mate, Max Verstappen suggested it won't turn out to be a positive move. Does anyone feel the same? Let us know in our poll!
