Ricciardo to run the opposite strategy to the front-runners

Daniel Ricciardo has been coming up with ideas on how to race through the field. He has come up with a plan which is to do the opposite of what those at the front do. The Austrian has a record of poor qualifying results which turn into good results on Sunday.
“If there is a way to beat them, I need to do something different,” Ricciardo told crash net. “We will try and change the strategy. I still don’t know if it is one or two stops but hopefully, we just do the opposite of what they do.”
Ricciardo has also been thinking about possible overtaking zones. Knowing that he will start from the back since Friday may have actually helped the 29-year-old prepare.
“You can pass in a few places, the hairpin at turn 6 and turn 8, for sure you can pass in those two places. [The] last sector probably not. But two good opportunities, so it is not the most but it is not the worst.”
Ricciardo will have some relatable company towards the back with him. Following yesterday’s failure, Lewis Hamilton will start from 14th place who will also attempt to charge through the pack.
