Red Bull's Daniel Ricciardo has a contract that expires after the 2018-season and is yet to sign a new contract at Red Bull. The Aussie however ensures that the extension will be sorted early in the new F1-season, as his first few races will likely facilitate the whole thing, he says.
The reason for that is that the Honey Badger wants to see where his RB14 is at before committing long-term, or moving elsewhere.
"For me personally I’m glad testing is over as it is not that exciting especially when you are in the car doing long runs with a bit of fuel," Ricciardo said.
"I’m looking forward to Melbourne which is what my sights are set on to get the job done there and hopefully it’ll make the situation a little easier to handle.
"We’ll have to see after the first couple of races."
The 28-year-old looks forward to what should be an interesing next period for him, as he'll have some big decisions to make.
"It is going to be interesting and it is going to be tough," the five-time Grand Prix winner admitted.
"Everyone wants to move on and try to figure out what the plan is, not for this season which hasn’t even started yet, but for 2019."
