Daniel Ricciardo has responded to the growing rumours that he will have to pack his bags at McLaren after this season. In the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, the British team announced that they have signed Alex Palou for 2023. Where the reigning Indycar champion will drive is still unclear, but it is certain that he is a threat to the seat of the Australian.
In a message on Twitter Ricciardo reveals that he is aware of the many rumours surrounding his position at McLaren. "I am committed to McLaren until the end of next year and am not walking away from the sport. Appreciate it hasn’t always been easy, but who wants easy!"

Few good results in 2022

Ricciardo officially still has a contract until 2023, but it has already been announced that there is a possibility for both parties to tear up this contract a year earlier. In any case, Ricciardo remains hopeful and confident that he will continue to drive for the British team from Woking next season.
"I’m working my ass off with the team to make improvements and get the car right and back to the front where it belongs. I still want this more than ever. See you in Le Castellet," Ricciardo concluded. Patrick O'Ward, runner-up in the 2021 IndyCar championship and McLaren driver, would also be a threat. Plenty of options, then, for McLaren, but Ricciardo thinks nothing will change for 2023 in Formula One.
