Ricciardo: "My age not a disadvantage"

Ricciardo is 28 now and with only six wins to his name, people are wondering whether he has got what it takes to win a Formula One World Championship.
The Australian has finished third in the championship in 2014 and 2016, although on both occasions he was a distant third to the Mercedes pair of Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg.
It is obvious that Ricciardo is fast enough, but consistency is his main problem, both with his own driving and his team’s reliability.
We have seen that this season, Ricciardo has set the fastest lap in all three races he has completed this year and produced a stunning performance to win in China.
However, he has failed to finish in both Bahrain and Azerbaijan, which has taken its toll on his championship chances.

Ricciardo said: “My age is not a disadvantage.
“I am fast and make little mistakes. Clearly, I want to improve further and in a sense, it is of course motivating, if things go well I can put more pressure on my opponents.
“After the next race we know if we have a chance in the title fight. And I’m sure we can leave the rest of the field behind us if we’re the fastest in development.”
