Daniel Ricciardo has had a difficult start of the season. The McLaren driver had little time to get used to his new car in testing and that has been reflected in his performance. Nevertheless, the Australian feels that his level is improving.
Whilst teammate Lando Norris is doing extremely well, Ricciardo believes that he is also improving his performance. "The team and I are experiencing a good start to the season so far," he said in the press release. "We are up against strong competition, so we are working hard to maximise our performance. It will be a tough weekend in Monaco, but we will try very hard to get a good amount of points on Sunday."
Ricciardo is excited to finally be able to race in Monaco again after two years. "We've made a lot of progression in the last few races and I think it showed well in Spain. I'm already starting to get really familiar with the car and my confidence continues to grow. Qualifying is going to be important in Monaco and we are very close to our competitors. We know what we have to do."

Ricciardo in world championship

The Australian is currently in seventh place in the world championship with 24 points. Norris has almost double that number with 41 points and is in fourth position, just behind Mercedes driver Valtteri Bottas.
