Red Bull is currently reviewing their options for who to pick as an engine partner for the coming years, but Renault team principal Cyril Abiteboul has claimed that Red Bull can be champions again if they stay with the French team.
Abiteboul said this when talking to Sky Sports F1.
"With Renault, Red Bull know what they're getting and what's coming in terms of upgrades," he explained.
"With Honda, that's a different story."
A sly dig there towards the Japanese team, who have been steadily improving this season. Is Renault scared of losing Red Bull?
"We want to keep Red Bull as a customer and we can make them champions again as well.
"We think it would be a shame if we lose Red Bull and with that their input to improve the engine."
Canada will be a deciding factor for Red Bull. Honda have a big upgrade package coming through in Montréal, which intrigues Red Bull. Let's see where Toro Rosso ends up this weekend!
