Relaxed Piastri praised: 'Incredibly calm all of the time'

Oscar Piastri will be in action for McLaren next season. Meanwhile, the driver has already completed a number of test drives, which the British racing stable is very pleased with. Tom Stallard is looking forward to working with the talent, he told Motorsportweek.com.

The engineer will work closely with Piastri in 2023. His years of experience should ensure Piastri quickly feels at home at McLaren, enabling the team to take the next step. Stallard is convinced that Piastri is going to be a success in Formula 1.

"He is incredibly calm all of the time. He is very calm, very mature and very unfazed," he analysed the driver. "He has made a lot of progress, and I think he now understands very clearly what the car needs. He has been able to deliver that very effectively, and we are very excited by that."

According to Stallard, it was especially impressive to see how quickly Piastri managed to develop himself. With a few pointers from the team, he managed to improve his lap times with his car. Stallard therefore expects the Australian to make big strides quickly in the new season.
