Red Bull advisor Dr Helmut Marko has revealed that Red Bull will be deciding what engine supplier they will partner with from 2019 onwards around the Austrian Grand Prix.
The Austrian Grand Prix takes place at the end of June and the start of July and Marko revealed to Autosport that that's the timeframe Red Bull is aiming for regarding their decision.
The Bulls have been flirting with the idea of switching to Honda from Renault, and this weekend in Canada will be an important one for the Japanese car-makers, as Red Bull will be monitoring how quick the engine will be after all the upgrades.
"We've been in talks about the engine, and internally the plan is to make the decision during the Austrian Grand Prix," Marko told Autosport.
"If things go our way, we'll know about Daniel Ricciardo too by then.
"I'm sure that a decision will come by then, since we don't have many options to choose from."
Red Bull team principal Christian Horner recently said that the decision would be made before the end of July, but Marko has just moved the decision up by a month. So, during Red Bull's home race at the Red Bull Ring in Austria on the 29th of June up until the 1st of July, we'll know who Red Bull will be partnering with next season.
