In 2026, Red Bull Racing will partner with Ford. Meanwhile, Red Bull Powertrains will push ahead with the plan. RB Powertrains finds reinforcements at Converge CFD and announces a collaboration for 2026 engine design.
Red Bull Racing's engine program will use Converge CFD software to develop the 2026 engine. In 2021, Red Bull set up the engine department to have an engine for Red Bull Racing and Alpha Tauri by 2026. From that year, the new engine regulations will apply.

Horner expects faster development

For development, Red Bull has found a strong partner. Team boss Christian Horner says in a press statement, "The development of our 2026 engine is evolving every day in our RB Powertrains factory with a motivated group of engineers and mechanics." Red Bull continues to expand the programme each time.
Horner: "CONVERGE CFD undoubtably meets that need and will help us to build a race-winning ICE. Their highly detailed combustion models enable us to visualise and simulate the inside of the cylinder during combustion, a process that will accelerate our development of a more powerful and efficient engine for the next generation of F1."
