Shortly after the contact between the two McLarens in the closing stages of the Canadian GP, Red Bull playfully mocked their rivals on social media with a nod to the infamous “papaya rules.”
After dominating the first part of the season, McLaren leaves the Canadian GP with fewer certainties and a few more headaches that team principal Andrea Stella will need to manage in the upcoming races.
The focus, of course, is on the late-race collision between Oscar Piastri and Lando Norris, with the latter making a costly misjudgment that ended his race and dealt a blow to his title challenge.

Showing great maturity and sportsmanship, Norris immediately took responsibility for the incident, apologizing to both the team and his teammate for the mistake. Team principal Andrea Stella appreciated his driver’s accountability.

''For me the most important thing is to see a reaction where people take responsibility of their actions and we have already seen it'', the Italian said after the race when commenting on the matter.

Red Bull has no mercy for McLaren

However, while McLaren was left licking its wounds after a missed opportunity, Red Bull wasted no time in (sportingly) poking fun at the incident between the two papaya drivers.
Shortly after the incident, the Milton Keynes-based team posted a subtle jab at their rivals on Threads, simply writing the pointed phrase: “papaya rules…” - and nothing more.
The comment quickly went viral, sparking widespread amusement among social media users.
