Max Verstappen has no limit in Austria for now. After first place in the first and only free practice, his sprint pole, victory in the sprint race, there was now pole position in qualifying for the main race. Max Verstappen did so particularly convincingly, which obviously satisfied him afterwards.
"It has been a while since we have actually been on pole [for a Grand Prix] so it's great. It's a great feeling," Verstappen said in an initial reaction. For the Dutchman's last pole position, we have to go back to Imola, more than a month ago. "The team has been working really hard to make the car more competitive and I think this is a great statement. Hopefully, we can of course also show that tomorrow in the race."
In the sprint race, Verstappen already duelled with Norris, in qualifying it was the same again. Will we see another mutual duel tomorrow between the two drivers who get along extremely well off the track? "Hopefully it will be an exciting afternoon. I'm not thinking too much about it right now, I'm mostly happy with how the car behaved today. Hopefully, that will also translate into race pace."
