RB18 of Verstappen steals the show in Barcelona with unusual side pod

The RB18 was long hidden by Red Bull Racing, but with the winter test in Barcelona, the team can no longer hide. The side pod of Max Verstappen's new car is particularly striking.

The 2022 Formula 1 season has officially started with the first test session in Barcelona. Verstappen will be in action on behalf of Red Bull Racing during the first day and will therefore drive the number #1 immediately. The Dutchman will also be in action with his RB18 after already sending it out for a secret shakedown at Silverstone.

Red Bull was very secrative in their preparation. The team didn't present a real car at the car launch and appeared to have conducted a secret shakedown at Silverstone. Where other teams bring film crews for this, Red Bull had tested in the deepest secrecy. Eventually, however, some (vague) footage came out.

Although there is no live footage from Barcelona, there are plenty of journalists present who will do everything they can to get a picture of the new RB18. For example, Albert Fabrega, a Spanish F1 journalist, managed to capture a photo where Red Bull Racing's impressive side pod stands out. That undercut by Red Bull we have not seen at any other team yet.
