Next Friday, when the first and second free practice sessions for the Austrian GP take place, the teams will test a new specification Pirelli rear tyre. The new construction should improve robustness.
Pirelli itself has reported this on its site: "This decision has been taken in addition to the recently issued technical directive and the latest starting parameters prescribed by Pirelli, in light of the fact that it is not currently possible to monitor running conditions in real time."

Drivers get two sets of new tyres

"Next Friday, each driver will have two sets of these new tyres available for use during either free practice session." If the test is successful, the tyres will be introduced during the British GP.
Pirelli says that with this new structure they can guarantee a tyre that can handle even more under the extreme conditions generated by the current cars.
